Anatomical Problem in the Prominent Ear

The prominent ear appears to be large because it is very prominent towards the front. However, they are generally normal in size. 80% and 90% of ear development is completed at the age of 6 years. In other words, by the age of 6, they have an ear size close to the adult ear size. For this reason, it is normal for the ears to appear larger than they are in small children with prominent ears who need ear surgery. In prominent ear deformity, the angle of the ear with the head is slightly wider than it should be. This clearly shows the ear outward. Especially when viewed from behind, this image becomes much more obvious. The folds that should be in the upper 2/3 of the ear are not formed and the ear looks as if it has been ironed.
