Every person, especially women, wants to have a beautiful face and appearance. According to women, in a perfect facial structure, the nose, eyes and ears should be proportional to each other. For these reasons, rhinoplasty is one of the most preferred facial aesthetic surgeries. The most important issue in rhinoplasty is to have nose aesthetics / rhinoplasty without disturbing the natural appearance of the facial profile. Nasal plastic surgery, known as rhinoplasty in the medical world, is the reshaping of the nose. In rhinoplasty surgeries, operations such as enlargement, tip lift and nasal bone removal can be performed.
Rhinoplasty surgeries can be performed for women over the age of 17 and for men over the age of 18. Two types of methods are applied for rhinoplasty, open and closed. The method to be used is determined by your doctor before the surgery. The duration of these surgeries varies between 1-3 hours on average. After the procedure is completed, a silicone sealant is placed on the nose and a plaster over the bridge of the nose.
The patient is discharged one day after the rhinoplasty surgery. Silicone filler is removed after 3-6 days. The sutures of the patients who underwent open rhinoplasty procedure are removed 6-7 days after the operation, and the plaster casts are removed 7-8 days after the operation. Depending on the bleeding during the operation or the skin type of the patient, bruising and swelling may occur around the patient’s eyes immediately after the operation. This is a normal situation. Such bruising and swelling will gradually disappear in about 2 weeks. It takes 6 months to 1 year for the nose to fully heal.
